Based on the parable of the Prodigal Son we had a total of 14 children taking part in the play that was performed at St Barnabas Church. As you can see from the first picture the children again helped with preparing the props for what was again a very good performance.
This was based on Bunyan’s classic tale, although highly abridged! The story followed Christian in his struggles to reach the City of Gold… past the lions, through Vanity Fair, through the shadow of death.
18 children took part in the play, and the audience was impressed with the final results! Dressed in black with minimal costume the children looked confident on stage, and sang three specially written songs during the performance.
Children also helped to paint the stunning back drop and to make the props that were used during the performance -- and played games as well!
How do you fit the last week of Jesus’ life into 20 minutes? And how do you learn it in less than 9 hours? This was the challenge of the Passion!
16 children came to St Richard’s church for three half day sessions in the week before Easter and working extremely hard came up with a fantastic production showing the joy of Palm Sunday, the agony of the crucifixion and the glory of the resurrection!
Pictures soon!
